Chocolate Peach Green Smoothie

By on May 1, 2015

The first time I bit into a real, authentic Georgia peach was right after I moved here to Atlanta in 2013. My husband Lee and I had sold our house in Oklahoma and had to wait 10 days before our apartment was ready to move into. This meant we were homeless for 10 days.

Homeless.

For 10 days!

So, we decided to pack up the Jeeps, the trailer and hit the road to go camping.

We spent the night in Nashville, TN, where I fell in love with the musical vibe there.

Next we headed to Georgia and decided to go all the way down to Savannah. I had always wanted to go to Savannah and practically begged Lee to go there. He didn’t care where we stayed, just as long as I was happy.

I sure was happy to see Savannah!

On the long drive all the way through Georgia, we stopped at one of those off-the-road fruit stands because they had a big ‘ole sign that said…

PEACHES!

I love a good peach and just had to try one from the one and only peach state.

So, I did.

As I bit into my first local Georgia peach, my taste buds exploded into a happy dance from all the depth of juicy flavor that poured out of it, dripping off my chin and down my arm.

I had died and gone to heaven.

Since I live in Georgia now and have officially become obsessed with how delicious the peaches are here, (I can see why it’s called The Peach State!) I thought it would be fun to put my obsession with peaches together with my other favorite food love–chocolate!

Together in a green smoothie at last!

I gotta tell you just how mouth watering this combination is! It’s perfect for cooling you down on a hot summer day, filling you up, hydrate you and yet still staying light on your stomach so you can function outside in the heat.

Not to mention it’s freaking delicious!

Mix in some maca powder and you’ve got yourself an energy boosting and hormone balancing winner!

Here’s the recipe!

Chocolate Peach Green Smoothie

2 banana
1 peach
a handful of raspberries
2 handfuls of spinach
1 tsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp maca powder
1-2 cups of water

Directions:

Blend it all in your blender and enjoy!
